Doreen is a native of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and a 1998 graduate of Elizabethtown College, which is located in Elizabethtown, PA. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science with a concentration in Resource Management. After moving to Connecticut in 1998, she began working at Northwest Environmental Water Labs in Oakville, CT. While there, she became a lab director and tested drinking water for various contaminants. In 2001, she began her studies at the University of Bridgeport and graduated with honors, earning her Master’s Degree in secondary science education.
Doreen has been teaching at Thomaston High School since 2002, where she taught Biology and General Science at the high school, before moving to eighth grade science the following year. During her time at THS, she has spent two years as the Eighth Grade Class Advisor, a few years as Eighth Grade Team Leader, and one year as the Seventh Grade Team Leader. She is the current Eighth Grade Team Leader, and a TEAM mentor.. She lives in Torrington with her husband and two sons, Scott and Jake.
