Mrs. Elizabeth Dean 

 Mrs. Dean graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2016 with a B.A. in Microbiology conc. Genetics. She then came to CT to get a Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in genetics and genomics from Uconn Health. Mrs. Dean got her teaching certification from Connecticut OHE’s Alternate Route to Certification. Mrs. Dean taught Oceanology and Computer Science at CREC Two Rivers Magnet Middle School for 2 years before starting at Thomaston High School last year. At THS, Mrs. Dean teaches 7th grade science, PATHS science, and biology.


Outside of school Mrs. Dean lives with her husband as well as a large number of pets. The oldest non-human members of the Dean family include Mira the dog, Ziva the cat, and Shade the evil cat. Mrs. Dean’s pets include several species of lizard including Medusa the Blue Tongue Skink and Little Foot the Leopard Gecko. Other notable pets include the Pea Puffer Fish Big Mac and Whopper, who were named by THS students and live in THS Rm. 125 during the school year. When Mrs. Dean is not attending to her pets, she is listening to podcasts, playing her switch, reading fantasy and nonfiction books, and crocheting random tiny objects
