 Mathematics

 Janice attended Bentley College and majored in accounting. She decided to change career paths and graduated Cum Laude from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Science, and Geography. Janice graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Masters of Science degree in Mathematics also from CCSU and has also completed another thirty credits of coursework beyond her Master’s degree.


Janice accepted her first teaching position in Wolcott, where she taught Project Explore, the district’s program for the talented and gifted. She was also the coordinator of a remedial program that involved organizing students to tutor their peers. Following this position she taught seventh grade mathematics in Wolcott and was seventh grade team leader for several years. In 2005, she was Wolcott’s Teacher of the Year and was recognized at the Connecticut Teacher of the Year Ceremony held at the Bushnell in Hartford.


 In 2006, she accepted a position to teach seventh grade mathematics in Thomaston and currently teaches seventh grade mathematics. She also held the position of seventh grade Team Leader for many years.


 Ms. Ellis loves to travel with her two daughters.
