Prior to Bob starting his second career with Thomaston Center School in 2011, he had worked for over twenty-two years with the Connecticut Department Of Corrections, retiring as a Captain/Unit Manager for the High Security Risk Intensive Mental Health Units for the state. Captain Stack was a past member of the Correctional Emergency Response Team, National Major Gang Task Force and worked briefly for the Board of Pardons and Parole. During his tenure, he received the awards of Officer of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, and Manager of the Year.
Mr. Stack started with Thomaston Center School as a Library Volunteer. In 2012 he became a Paraprofessional at Center School. He really enjoyed watching everyone have fun at the Haunted Hallways/Book Fair, Penny Wars, and Silly String Wars at Center School. He is a past coach of the MS Girls Basketball, Softball and MS Field Hockey. Bob received the 2020 Thomaston Paraprofessional Of The Year.
Bob has four children: Robert Jr., Shannon, Connor, Nolan and three grandchildren: Robert III (aka Buddy), Maya, and Kellan who are the loves of his life. You will probably find Bob at one of the High School games as he tries not to miss any games. Bob truly believes in the following mottos: “If everyone does a little, nobody will have to do a lot” and “The heart that touches the lives of others, lives on forever”.
